April 2025
Happy Spring from Mesa Natural Health Chiropractic! We’ve been busy little bees already this year, continuously striving to make the office the best it can be. Read on for updates, specials, and a whole lotta fun.
First Things First: DOGS!!!!!!!
It is proven that dogs improve mental and physical health, so this is totally related.
Now that we have your attention…..

It’s been four months since we switched our software to Jane App. We are still figuring out workarounds for things we need the software to do that it isn’t capable of…. But overall, we love it! The intake and exam process is so much easier and faster. The staff has been working tirelessly to get records transferred over from the old software. The transition has been huge and it wouldn’t have been possible without such amazing people running the show. And most importantly, ONLINE SCHEDULING IS NOW AVAILABLE! There’s a button up top there that you can click which will take you to the online booking site, where you can sign in using a username or email.
Another transition saw our clinic manager, Devyn, moving to the front desk. Her new title replaces the title of “Dr’s assistant,” although she still handles the exams and the case management. With her knowledge of the inner workings of the front office and insurance, we knew it would be way too hard to train another new front desk person. So instead, we brought on Jessica to be your new note-taker! Jess has been a long-time patient of this office, and we knew her great attitude and willingness to learn would make her the perfect person to talk to patients all day long.
We know you’re wondering what new office renovations have done, because if you know Dr. Silveira, you know that she just can’t stop. She has redone the patient bathroom and put up shelves in the treatment rooms. That’s it…..for now.

And by summer body, we mean staying strong and keeping yourself from getting hurt. With warmer weather and longer days, we should all be getting outside to get our daily dose of exercise and Vitamin D3. That means hiking, walking on the beach, kayaking, and of course, pickleball! Here are a few exercises to help strengthen your muscles and improve flexibility, making injury less likely!
-Pelvic tilt: Begin lying on floor with knees bent, feet flat on floor. Low back should be relaxed in neutral a position. Activate core muscles. Flatten low back against floor as you perform a posterior pelvic tilt contracting lower abdominal muscles. Slowly return to start position. Repeat 10 times.
-Cat Camel: Round your back upward stretching mid-back between the shoulder blades. Relax and let your chest fall downward as you pinch your shoulder blades together. Hold each position 3-5 seconds. Repeat 10 times.
-Hammie stretch: Begin by sitting upright and at edge of chair. Maintain good posture, positioning self on sit bones. Spine is in neutral position with a flat lower back. Fully extend leg so that heel is contacting floor with toes pointing upward. While maintaining a flat back position, lean forward until a gentle stretch is felt behind thigh. Hold for 20-30 seconds. Alternate sides.
-Trapezius/scalene stretches: Begin in a standing position using the left hand to hold the right wrist behind the back. Slowly bend neck to the left side while using the left hand to pull downward on the right wrist. Stretch should be felt in the upper trap area. Hold for 15 seconds, rest 15, and perform 3 repetitions before switching sides.

Heather’s Italian Pasta Salad
Refrigerate these leftovers- this stuff is even better the next day.
Dressing
1/2 c extra virgin olive oil
1/4 c red wine vinegar
1 Tbsp sugar
1 large garlic clove, minced
1/2 tsp Dijon mustard
1/2 tsp dried marjoram or oregano
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1/4 tsp dried parsley
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
Pasta Salad
1 box (12 oz) tri-color spiral pasta
6 oz thick cut salami, cut into bite-sized pieces
1/4 cup shredded parmesan
7 oz mozzarella, cut into bite-sized pieces
1/4 cup sliced peperoncinis
1 orange bell pepper, chopped
8 oz olives, halved (I like Kalamata)
2 cups cherry tomatoes, halved
2 Tbsp diced fresh chives (optional)
Instructions
• Whisk together dressing ingredients until combined, or place dressing ingredients in a jar and shake well.
• Cook pasta according to box directions minus 1 minute. Drain in a colander and rinse under cold water to stop it cooking further. Shake excess water off well then transfer into large bowl.
• Place remaining pasta salad ingredients in the bowl. Drizzle over dressing and toss. Serve at room temperature.
